Why Choose Milling Underfloor Heating Systems
Floor milling is a smart solution for retrofitting underfloor heating without major disruption. It keeps floor height changes minimal, speeds up installation, and works with most existing floor types. Plus, it improves energy efficiency, making it ideal for modern renovations.
Works with Most Existing Floors
Floor milling works well with concrete or screed floors and some anhydrite floors. However, it’s not suitable for timber floors, which require a different retrofit approach. This versatility makes it suitable for many renovation projects.
Minimal Floor Build Up
Floor milling only adds about 3–5 mm to the finished floor level. This is perfect for projects where door frames, thresholds, or skirting boards cannot be adjusted, ensuring a seamless fit without costly alterations.
Fast Installation
Compared to full screed replacement, milling is significantly quicker. An average room can be completed in just one day, whereas traditional methods often take several days or even weeks, reducing downtime and inconvenience.
Minimal Disruption
There’s no need to break up and dispose of the existing floor, which means less mess and noise. This makes milling a cleaner, more practical option than traditional underfloor heating retrofits, especially in occupied homes.
Energy Efficient
Because the heating pipes sit just below the surface, the system heats up faster and operates at lower temperatures. This improves efficiency, especially when paired with heat pumps, and helps reduce energy costs over time.
Cost-Effective Retrofit
Floor milling avoids the expense of removing and replacing the entire screed, reducing labor and material costs compared to traditional underfloor heating installations. This makes it one of the most budget-friendly options for upgrading to modern heating.
Our Process
1.
Consultation, Design and Quote
Our experts will assess your property, review your floor structure and heating needs, and provide tailored advice on the most efficient solution. We’ll design a customised system for maximum comfort and energy efficiency, then deliver a clear, itemised quote with no hidden costs.

2.
Professional Installation
Our highly skilled technicians ensure a precise, virtually dust-free installation using advanced milling machines that quickly cut accurate slots in existing floors for heating pipes, allowing direct pipe placement. All pipework and manifolds are then filled and pressure-tested to guarantee reliability.

3.
System Setup, Commissioning and Handover
Once your electrician and heating engineers have completed the installation of controls and pipework to the manifold, we will return to commission the underfloor heating system and complete the handover. At this stage, you will receive test certificates, warranty documentation, and an operational manual.
